Welcome at the Dress gallery of the Argyll & Sutherland Highlanders

At this page you can view the piper uniforms of the famous Argyll & Sutherland Highlanders(Princess Louise's), ranging from 1914-2005. To book the uniform just go to bookonline and fill in the booking form.

Every uniform is coded in red and when filling in the online booking, with this corresponding code it is easier to retrieve in which Dress the Piper is whished to perform. For example: The code for WWI Service dress is AUK 1 or AUK 2.


Argyll & Sutherland Highlanders WWI

1. WW 1 Servicedress
2. WW 1 Servicedress with apron

Background: a map of trenches in 1917, somewhere in France

Uniform 1: Servicedress (Cut-a-way jacket) with kilt and Tammy O’ Shanter (the headdress).
If whished, jacket can also be worn with 'Trews' (the tartan trousers!)

Uniform 2: Field Service kit with apron (for protection/camouflage).

WW2 Battledress

On the background of the photo you can see the three gliders which landed there on the evening of D-Day – 1, 5th of june 1944, to conquer the Orne Bridge, nowadays called the Pegasus Bridge, in Bénouville, Normandy
Insignia on sleeves.
1. Depicts the Regiment of A&SH of the 15 th. Scottish division (the red-white chequeres and the Scottish rampart)

Argyll & Sutherland Highlanders piper

No 1 Dress

No1 Dress, with spats, glengarry (of course, the Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders is the only regiment which the glengarry is granted, the A&SH are therefore called the Glengarried Men)
Also wearing a piperssporran of the A&SH.

Dress can also be worn with the 'open' piper brogues instead of the 'spats'.

Argyll & Sutherland Highlanders no2 dress

No 2 Dress

Exact on these premises the Argyll & Sutherland Highlanders were founded, Stirling Castle, Scotland.
In 1881 as an amalgation of the 91 st Argyllshire regiment and the 93 rd Sutherland Highlanders Stirling castle became the depot .

Left: No2 Dress with pipersporran, spats, and Pipe-Major (red) sash.

As AUK 6 but with Daydress sporran and Lovat green full hoses. The worn A&SH Day Sporran is 1949 dated.
